Many people think that massage is just for pampering. It’s much more than that. Just taking time to feel good is rewarding, but there are many other effects possible with a massage. For many of us, tension is a problem. It can cause pain, effect movement and balance, and can reduce our quality of life. Let’s face it, breathing is a muscle action. When we breathe better, we feel better. Massage can help your sleep, improve your skin, and reduce pain and tension. It can improve your movement and balance.

There is more than one way for you to become more comfortable in your body. When I first started taking massage classes, over a decade ago, one of the first things they taught us was to be mindful. To me this means to understand and respect how the other person wants to be treated. When I give someone a massage, my main goal is to give them the massage they need. Someone who is younger may want a more active massage, where if someone just wants to take time to relax, they may want a calming massage using less pressure, possibly a hot stone massage, or acupressure. Each massage is individually designed. You’re an individual and I believe that your massage needs to be as unique as you are.

There is more than one way to reduce tension, pain, and stiffness. My goal is to not just help you feel better when you’re receiving a massage, but give you new skills to take with you to help make your life eel better. Learn the secret of soft movements that can reduce pain and improve your flexibility and movement. Even better, massage gives your mind a rest.
